Allergy Test Australia is now part of Test My Food Sensitivity. If bloating, headaches or skin flare-ups have you searching for an allergy test, our at-home hair test is an easy first step. Post a small sample from anywhere in Australia and check up to 1,600 foods and everyday items.
Why people look for an allergy test
Bloating after meals, low energy, headaches and skin flare-ups are common reasons. Often these are not true allergies but sensitivities: reactions that build slowly and are hard to pin to one food. Our test helps you narrow the list.
How it works
- Order your kit and we post it to you with clear instructions.
- Snip a small hair sample at home. No needles and no appointment.
- Post it back in the envelope provided.
- Get your results online in 5–7 working days once your sample arrives.
What a true allergy is, and what our test checks
A true food allergy is an immune reaction, usually involving IgE antibodies, that can start within minutes and can be severe (for example swelling, hives or breathing problems). If you have reactions like these, see your GP or doctor straight away. Our test does not look for IgE antibodies and does not test for true allergies.
What our test checks is sensitivity: items your body may find harder to tolerate, which can be linked to slower, milder symptoms such as bloating, tiredness, headaches or skin irritation. Your report lists up to 1,600 foods and everyday items, grouped so you can plan a short elimination and reintroduction period.
Which test should I choose?
- Up to 1,600 items: our most complete option, covering foods, drinks, additives and everyday items. See the full test
- Smaller tests: fewer items at a lower price. Compare all tests
FAQ
Is this an allergy test? People often search for an allergy test, so we use the term to help you find us. Our test is a sensitivity test. It does not check for true (IgE) allergies and is not a medical test. For sudden or severe reactions, speak to your doctor.
What is the difference between an allergy and a sensitivity? An allergy is a fast immune reaction that can be dangerous. A sensitivity is usually slower and milder, and tends to show up as discomfort rather than an emergency.
How many items are checked? Up to 1,600 foods and everyday items, depending on the test you choose.
How long do results take? 5–7 working days once your sample is received.
Do I need a needle or a clinic visit? No. You only need a small hair sample, taken at home.
What should I do with my results? Use them as a guide to try removing flagged items for a few weeks, then reintroduce them one at a time and note how you feel.
